Does anyone know how much does the carbon mast weight? Also, any issues with it?

From memory, my replacement mast for my Rave weighed 1/2 as much, coming in at about 9kg v the Rave mast at 19kg.
This made it much much easier to rig in windy weather.
And at 9m it was 2m longer than the standard 7m Rave mast.

Disadvantage (so I've been told) is that extremely hot temperatures can damage a black mast - so either paint it or store it out of the sun.
Hypothetically you can spray & wipe a UV protectant onto it.
I just want to go 40knts. That's all.

Other disadvantages include brittleness-drop it and it needs replacement.  UV degradation over time-takes a long time though and it still conducts electricity though not as well as aluminum.  Not worth the expense, IMO, for a WR17.

Thanks for the replies, but I'm asking specifically about the WR 16 carbon mast, not Rave or WR 17.
