Seat Replacements
« on: October 11, 2017, 03:52:57 PM »
I didn't see any posts where anyone was doing seat upgrades/replacements or padding. I went to West Marine & saw a couple seat opinions that might work. I don't know about you WR17 owners but the original seats lack comfort. I'd love to find something with some arms, like a captain chair but I think the chances of getting something like that to fit is pretty slim.
Feel free to share your thoughts/experience! Thanks....Wooter

I'm no longer sailing a WR17, but when I did, I used the cockpit rim as the "arms" of my chair. IMHO, no need to get more complicated. However, I certainly understand that there are many different body types out there, and my experience might not be the same as yours.

I find the forward seats a nuisance and in the way.

I found something down at West Marine that might work. They have others without the arm rests. I'm going to do a little measuring to see if I can squeeze one of these in there. There is something to be said about comfort!

My wife hardly ever sits in forward cockpit anymore, actually  neither do I unless racing or in really heavy seas.we sit over the amas mostly and prefer that position. but Being in the hull has it's advantages .But fla mikes bean bag chair is really cool I have to admit it's a hit.and you can stuff it under the fore deck.

I'll have to give Fl. Mike's bean bag a look over. They sound like they would work rather well.  The chairs from West Marine has an adjustable metal frame & I'm sure after a while, that would become problematic. Thanks!
